Another long mustard and ketchup

Okay, Catch-up! Just needed to stop and spill some condiments on the table so Google will keep my place. Been busy. Had ideas. Couldn't remember how to log in here to record thoughts. Google/Blogger/Blogspot (Booger?, Booger Spot?) too stupid to actually reset passwords - I followed the directions several times. I always got redirected to the same damn "You wanna reset your password" page. Yes, several times. "Wait for the email that tells you what to do" several times. Followed said directions several times. Ended up back at the damn "You wanna reset your password" page.

So, finally found said password and logged in, just to be safe. Maybe over the Holidays I will remember the thoughts I had before.

Anniversaries - and Deaths

This entry is just proof that I need to get over my hump about time in front of the PCs:

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the first Humans on the Moon (so far as we know). "One small step for (a) man, one giant leap for Mankind." I remember my parents being excited enough about the event to actually keep me out of school that day so I could watch history unfold.

Unfortunately, the "most trusted man in America" and our news broadcaster of choice that day, Walter Kronkite had passed away this past Friday.

This weekend also marks the 10th Anniversary of "Sponge Bob Square pants" on Nickelodeon. Kind of a watered down "Ren and Stimpy" if you ask me. But I haven't watched it.

And July 18 would have been Hunter S. Thompson's 72nd Birthday. Hopefully the bats will leave him alone.

Another Day down - and more numbers

Bear with me as I try to get back into the swing of things Intarweb-related.

However, today, July 14 serves as an annual reminder to me of the path I could have wandered down - along with many a lost soul. Luckily, I saw the light.

But them were some fun times.

Unusual times

Though I haven't seen any stories about it yet, I just realized:

A little after midnight last night, most 12 hour clocks would show:

12:34

But if they showed seconds, and the date - they may have shown:

12:34:56 7/8/9

Edit: One of my attorneys points out that in "Universal time" the above would have been "00:34:56" and thus upsets the flow of time and space. However, shortly after lunch today it will be 12:34:56 7/8/9 - woo hoo! something to look forward to today.
