It is not really a "new" beginning. Nor an "old beginning". "Twas a dark and stormy night?"
Anyway, things have changed a great deal this year. I am once again footloose and fancy-free. No, I have plenty of "fancies". But I am unemployed yet again. And better off for it, I reckon. Gained 50 lbs in a year and half of employment. Lost 12 of those in the first two weeks of freedom! Just because I am naturally more active.
Started contemplating the one-eyed monsters in my life. At least the photon emitting variety. Both of them suck up untold hours. Both can be educational. Both can be a constant deluge of advertising. Both can be sources of simple entertainment. Nowadays, both can be sources of music, as well. I've discovered that there is a huge gap in my current life, and that is the lack of music. Or a background score at least. So today I will make an effort to spend less time staring, and more time listening.
These thoughts were brought to me while listening to the Traveling Wilbury's "At the End of the Line".
